ABOUT
ME
My name is David Quevillart and I am a street photographer.
Self-taught, 41 years old, I have travelled the world, lived in different regions of France, working in different jobs: waiter in restaurants, kitchen clerk, organic farmer, temporary worker, school assistant...
Then, in 2018, I went "home" to the city of my childhood: Lille. That's when I really got into photography.
I rediscovered the city with a different look and I practiced different photographic styles. Walking these streets, observing the scenes that were happening there and capturing fleeting moments became obvious.
I especially like to immortalize a scene thinking that it no longer exists at the moment I look at my photo and that it will never exist again. I am constantly adapting and interacting with environments and people and all these contacts are important and meaningful to me.
It's a practice that I find very similar to fishing: finding the right place, the right conditions, knowing what you're looking for, positioning yourself correctly in space, inducing passages, and waiting, sometimes for a long time, to come back empty-handed. But with a lot of lessons for the next times.
I hope you will enjoy these atmospheres and scenes. I enjoyed photographing them and I want to transmit these ephemeral moments to you.
I appreciate the exchanges so please take the time to share your feedback on my work.
David Quevillart.
